  2. HOW THE CHALLENGE WILL WORK AND HOW TO ENTER:

The Challenge consists of two parts.

Part 1 - The College Level Phase: This phase determines which eligible student from each of the participating veterinary schools shall be eligible to travel to the Southern European Veterinary Conference 2012 in Barcelona as the local school ambassador of his/her participating veterinary school, where the final phase of the competition will be held.

Part 2 – The Web Site Phase: The participation of eligible students in casting “votes” in this phase determines which five (5) of the participating veterinary schools will be Challenge Finalists in the random drawing for the Grand School Prize, a Hill’s School Sponsorship of 10,000 Euro for the winning participating veterinary schools´ student organization.

The College Level Phase: For a chance to become the local school ambassador and be eligible for the travel award to the Southern European Veterinary Conference 2012 in Barcelona, the student will be chosen through a contest organized at each participating veterinary school (each such student, an “College Level winner”). The nature of the contest and its rules will be determined locally by each participating veterinary school and can be different among the participating veterinary schools.

The Website Phase: Sponsor will post the name of each participating veterinary school on the Hill's veterinary student portal at http://hillstopdog.com (the “Website”). During the Challenge Period, the Website will invite eligible students of the participating veterinary schools to cast one “vote” which will be automatically counted towards the eligible student’s associated participating veterinary school, i.e. in practice every eligible student can cast one “vote” only to the participating veterinary school in which he/she is enrolled . To “vote,” eligible students will need to visit the Website, click on the link to the Hill’s Top Dog Challenge, and register with their e-mail address.

Casting “votes” by eligible students of participating veterinary schools is crucial, because only the five (5) participating veterinary schools who have the highest percentage of its total veterinary student population casting “votes” in the Website Phase (hereafter “Challenge Finalists”) will be eligible to win the Grand Prize. If a tie exists between two or more participating veterinary schools to fill the same Challenge Finalist position, a random drawing of those tied participating veterinary schools will be conducted to break the tie and fill the lower positions. If, in the course of the Website Phase, the total votes for a participating veterinary school exceed the recorded total veterinary student population for that participating veterinary school, that participating veterinary school may be disqualified from the Website Phase, and replaced by the participating veterinary school having the next highest percentage of its total veterinary student population casting votes. The effect of this rule is to discourage eligible students from creating multiple, separate user IDs and casting multiple votes. If the Sponsor determines that an eligible student has cast multiple votes, all votes by that eligible student will be disqualified, and if a participating school is determined to have multiple eligible students casting or attempting to cast multiple votes, all votes of the participating veterinary school may be disqualified at the Sponsor’s option.

On or around September 13th, 2012, Sponsor will announce the ten (10) school level winners who will be eligible to travel to the SEVC 2012 in Barcelona and the 5 (five) Challenge Finalists, and will notify the appropriate participating veterinary school level winners as well as the representative of the main veterinary student organization/local student body via email and/or mail.

On or around September 30th, 2012 Sponsor will randomly draw the Grand Prize winning participating veterinary school from the 5 (five) Challenge Finalists. The Grand Prize winning participating veterinary school will be notified of winning in person, by mail or e-mail. Each of the other 4 (four) Challenge Finalists shall receive a consolation prize.

A description of the Challenge prizes and their respective approximate retail values are set forth below:
